Campaign Ads

I have not seen any Democratic or Republican ads on ABC or CBS or NBC
in NY or IL or CA.

There have been some Republican ads on Fox but very few.

Has both parties decided to take for granted the states of New York,
Illinois and california will be blue states???

There are a lot of electoral votes in these three states.

There should be TV advertising in ALL 50 states.

That bothers me.

Does it bother you???

And that's the way I see it...

Chasing rainbows and selling cars

Another TV commercial with an adorable little girl. Even with her pouty attitude when she loses hope to finding the rainbow, you end up with a happy, warm feeling at the end of this TV commercial.

Little girl - Understanding father - Buy this car - A Great Theme.

This commercial will sell a lot of cars.

The big three car manufacturers need to review their TV ads. Chrysler's ads have been great and their sales have risen. A word to the wise of GM and Ford.

And that's the way I see it...

for an impressive ad.

Great ad !!!

Does Lexus think its buyers re stupid?

They are looking at travel brochures and say: Bora Bora as a destination. Then they dream of sitting in their car while a coconut drops on the hood. Come on people. They would have to FLY to Bora Bora Not drive there.

This is truly stupid and that makes me think the Lexus must believe their potential buyers are just that stupid. Why else write this stupid TV Commercial???

If I was a Lexus owner, I would think about selling the car. And if I was  looking at cars, I would skip the Lexus after viewing this TV commercial.

And that's the way I see it...

Mis-Directed TV Commercial

There's a casino TV Commercial now showing that looks more like an
advertisement for a house of ill-repute. There are no picture of anyone gambling.
There is no picture of the slot machines or the gambling tables.
There is no mention f anything related to gambling.
There is pictures of women in great outfits twirling, walking with new gifts and
in a small whirlpool.

What is this casino they really selling?

AT & T hits the jackpot with their new TV Commercial

The setting is a speed dating scene. He is trying to pick-up this woman and she is aware of his every pick-up line.
HE: "Nothing matters since I met you"
SHE: " You wrote that as your favorite pick-up line 15 minutes ago."
Great copy.
Gets the point across in direct ad-copy.
Great timing of the actors.
Great feeling TV commercial.

NY State TV ads

Just saw the new New York TV commercial. While it is strong, it sounds like the Chrysler TV Commercial. Same voice, same direct type of ad copy and the same driving music. Yes, it is pounding and forceful but it is a copy of the Chrysler TV ad:."Chrysler, Imported from Detroit."  Now this was an original and a great TV Commercial. New York should never copy anyone's ad. New York needs to be unique.

Bad choice of words

A TV ad claiming they have a non-evasive surgical tool that works through the skin without cutting the skin.  Some call it the "proton knife™: other call it by their trade names. And it seems like a great idea. They describe that patients undergoing this form of surgery recover faster without incontinence. This is a great feature for prostrate surgery.

Then they say they are the CUTTING EDGE in surgery.  Really? CUTTING edge? Couldn't they use 'leading edge?' As a man, the thought of CUTTING my prostrate scares the hell out of me. But leading edge says: we are the best and newest.

It's all a matter of choosing the right word.

Who wins with "Don't Be a Loser?"

Lately Comcast has been running a series of ads that say: Don't Be  A Loser.

What type of message is this to viewers? Sure it's somewhat cute the first one or two times you see the ad. But after many multiples runs, this ad just makes me angry.

And using the bogus logic from their ads, If I'm getting angry, then many other viewers are getting the same reaction.

In my opinion, this ad rates 2+ out of 5. It is creative and cute to some groups, but is wearing and stupid to the rest of the viewers.

Promotion boarding on a scam

I saw this TV Commercial for a face or body cream in a glass bottle. They offered to give you back all your money even if you use all the contents. Just return the empty bottle.

OK. This is an Australian company. SO what do you think it would cost to box this bottle and ship it to Australia or even to a city in the USA? My thought is that it would cost more than the money you would get back!!! They must know this. They are counting on this fact to make sales. To me --- this is deceptive.

If you see this TV AD, Watch Out!. If their marketing is deceptive than their product might not do what they claim.

And that's the way I see it...

TV Commercial Sound Volume

When is the new law that forces TV ads to be at the same sound level as the program's
sound level going into effect?

When a TV commercial blasts its volume greater than the program's sound level,
I change the channel. And many times, I do not go back to that channel. I remember
that advertiser so I can never buy from them. I do not remember the TV ad or the product. I just
selectively remember to avoid that company's products. And sometimes, I have even stopped
buying a product I once used regularly.

I vote with my dollars every day with every purchase. And you vote with your purchases.
If you find that a TV commercial is offensive or too loud, you might change the channel.
And you might avoid buying the company's products.

I go one step further. I call up the company and complain about their loud TV commercial.

And that's the way I see it...

TV ads that lie by avoiding the details

Even though I have this insurance, I was surprised that the feature
they claim in their ads is very restrictive, mis-leading and lying.

They say that if your car is totaled, they will replace your car with a
new car one year newer. Sounds good. BUT what they show in their
written advertising to me is that they will only replace a NEW car
that is less than 15 months old and has limited mileage on it.

That is completely different than the TV ads lead the viewer to believe.

To me, when you hide an important fact, you are not just
mis-leding the viewer, you are lying to the viewer.

And that's the way I see it...

ServPro TV ads

Are you as disgusted with this TV commercial as I am???

The home os on fire and everything personal will be lost.
The basement is flooded and all there furniture and storage will be ruined.

But the homeowner (Usually a woman( is on the home with someone and saying
everything is alright.

OR the cleanup person is behind her and she is saying everything will be alright.

But things will NOT be OK. There will be a long waiting time before anyone can get
in and get an estimate for repairs so the homeowner can give that estimate to
their insurance company. Then there will be the clean up, repair and replacements.

BUT some things will never be returned to the homeowner. The lost pictures and
lost back ups on the hard drives of computers will be destroyed. OK here is
where the cloud can come in. BUT this is years away before most people have
their backup and pictures on the cloud.

In the meantime, when tragedy strikes, the time to get back to anywhere near
as before is months away and months of living at relatives or in a hotel.

Everything is NOT OK ServPro. Your TV ads are misleading. Your fake
comfort is misleading.

And that's the way I see it...

Land Rover ads are mean

Just saw a Land Rover TV ad where a man was the 7th wheel.
The three couples were arrogant and socially rude. After viewing this
TV Commercial, I will never buy a Land Rover and I will never
give a Land Rover the right of way. If Land Rover thinks its drivers
are this type of stupid and rude people, who am I do argue with
their market polling.

Net, Net, Net People who drive Land Rovers are not people you or I would want to be around

TV ADVERTISING SOUND LEVEL

Are you tired of reaching for the clicker to lower the sound when the commercials come on???

Advertisers record these commercials at a higher volume than "normal" volume of the regular programming.

I thought this was now illegal. I called my TV stations and complained often with no results.

Maybe all viewers need to call their local TV station and remind them of the new law about maintaining sound
levels when TV programming changes to advertising and back to TV Programming.

ONE thing I now do is switch the channel when these blasting TV commercials come on. And usually, I
find another station to watch with different advertisers. SO Advertisers need to be aware that if one person
is switching channels when their blaring TV ADS come on, then quite possibly tens of thousands of viewers
are either switching the channel or even lowering the sound level to zero. That TV Commercial then becomes a wasted ad-impression.

Advertisers wise up and record your ads ay normal sound level or lose potential buyers.

And that's the way I see it...

Geico Insurance TV ad insults Chicagoans

Have you seen the Geico TV ad that uses a sub, sub-set accent of a few people from the south side of Chicago that was developed by Saturday Night Live years ago. It is embarrassing to everyone who lives in Chicago. I for one will toss any Geico mail directly into the shredder.

They should have researched this accent before airing this TV ad.

Annoying TV Commercials

There is a TV Commercial which damages two cars and fixes them up telling
you that the repair jobs are the same and the difference is the insurance premiums.

But there is a difference. I have car insurance that GUARANTEES the repairs for the
life of the car not just while I own it. That has value and it does not cost me anything extra.

The other point is that after the annoying commercial comes on, I usually switch the channel
immediately. And to this day, I do not know what insurance company is sponsoring that
TV Commercial.

In my opinion, a total waste of advertising money.

disgusting taste in TV advertising

Just saw the Crystal Light TV commercial. This ad has reached a new low.
They are connecting a commercial airplane crash with their product. Does
anyone see how disgusting this TV ad is???

We need to reach for new highs in advertising - not going for the
disgusting.
